A different relationship with yourself.
Understanding creates possibility
Most of us spend our lives experiencing the world through a nervous system we barely understand.
We learn to explain our thoughts, judge our behaviour and tell stories about who we are, but many of the patterns we struggle with make far more sense when viewed through the lens of the nervous system.
Nervous system literacy offers a different way of understanding yourself. It begins with a different question.
What if we replaced "Why can’t I change this?” with…
"What might my nervous system be trying to protect me from?"
What becomes possible when we understand our nervous system?
When we understand the hidden biology shaping our thoughts, feelings and behaviour, we begin to see ourselves and experience life differently.
From that place, new possibilities for change, growth and resilience emerge.

Purpose & Potential
Become more fully yourself and contributing your unique strengths to the world.
The Lovely Messy Humans Method
A guided journey to help you better understand yourself, identify your protective patterns and create change in your life.
Understand
We begin by exploring how your nervous system has shaped the way you think, feel and respond to the world.
Understanding the science of the nervous system, your own unique patterns and what you’d like to be different.
Transform
We work with your nervous system to create new emotional patterns and possibilities using science-based approaches.
Combining neuroscience-nased approaches like Havening Techniques with coaching and self-practice.
Integrate
We continue to reinforce what has shifted and support you as change becomes part of your everyday life.
We'll navigate real-life situations as they arise and embed resilience that will last long after our work together has finished.
Because lasting change rarely happens through insight alone. It happens when understanding, experience and everyday life come together.
Who this work is for
The people I work with are often intelligent, thoughtful and capable. They may be successful, yet find themselves held back by protective patterns that no longer serve them.
They often say things like, "I know what I'm capable of, but I just can't seem to access that version of myself."
They've usually spent time trying to understand themselves through books, podcasts, coaching or personal development, but still find certain patterns keep returning.
This also used to be me.
How I work
My work is educational and coaching-based rather than therapeutic. I'm not a psychotherapist or counsellor, and this isn't designed to replace mental health treatment.
Instead, I help people understand how their nervous system shapes their thoughts, emotions and behaviour, so they can work with their biology rather than against it. Then, we use gentle techniques to update your patterns, and change becomes possible.
All sessions are delivered either online via Zoom or in person in Hove, East Sussex.
Let’s explore working together
Because this is a personalised way of working, I begin by asking you to complete a short form. This helps me understand what you're hoping to achieve and whether I'm the right person to support you.
Once you’ve completed the form, I'll invite you to book a discovery call so we can explore the next steps together.
You might be wondering…
-
No. My work is educational and transformational rather than therapeutic. I help people understand their nervous system and use neuroscience-informed approaches to create meaningful change. It isn't a replacement for psychotherapy or mental health treatment.
-
People come to me for many different reasons, including anxiety and resilience, relationships, business goals, public speaking and visibility, difficult life transitions, performance, stress, exams and more.
The common thread isn't the issue itself – it's a desire to better understand what's happening beneath the surface and create lasting change.
-
My work brings together an unusual combination of science, education and lived experience.
Alongside a background in zoology and more than 25 years communicating complex ideas, I've invested extensively in my own personal development, learning from some of the world's leading coaches, educators and practitioners in neuroscience, behaviour change and human potential.
I am also trained as a Resilience Coach and a Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner.
Rather than following a single model, I've integrated what I've found to be most effective into a practical, science-based approach that helps people better understand themselves and create lasting change.

Every person is different. Some people experience a meaningful shift very quickly, while others choose to take more time to explore and integrate the changes they're making.
The Lovely Messy Humans Method is designed to be flexible. Some people move through it over a couple of weeks, while others prefer to spread the process over several months. Together, we'll decide on a pace that feels right for you.

Yes. I work both online and in person from The Practice Rooms in Hove.

Yes. I work with both adults and young people, although the approach is tailored to the individual. For younger clients, I work in partnership with parents or carers where appropriate, and I'm always happy to discuss whether this approach is the right fit before we begin.

Havening Techniques® are a gentle, neuroscience-informed approach designed to help reduce emotional distress and support the brain in forming new emotional associations.
As a Certified Havening Techniques® Practitioner, I use Havening as one of several approaches within the Lovely Messy Humans Method. Every session is tailored to the individual, drawing on nervous system education, practical tools and transformational techniques to support meaningful, lasting change.

That's exactly what the application and discovery call are for. They give us both the opportunity to explore your goals, answer any questions and decide whether working together feels right.
